Le Lioran
It has the largest skiing range in the Massif Central. The ski resort spreads over 150 hectares. Discover the snow covered open spaces, and the ski slopes that run through the forest.
Le Lioran is made up of:
• 44 ski runs, 66km of sheer pleasure, 5 black, 14 red, 12 blue and 13 green ski runs.
• 22 ski lifts, including the cable car, 8 chair lifts and 13 drag lifts
• It is a popular winter destination, and for adrenaline seekers there is a lively snow park with its own sound system, border cross, a flood lit big air, and a kite ski area.

The resort is also in the process of obtaining the P’tit Montgnard label for its hospitality and the quality of its services, particularly for families. The services include:
• A beginners’ area with a free drag lift
• A safe and specially adapted sledging area
• A kindergarten and a nursery
• Three ski schools

Prat de Bouc
You can easily reach Le Lioran from the other side of the Plomb du Cantal: the Col de Prat de Bouc.
For the little ones there is a beginners’ drag lift and a specially adapted sledge run. It is also possible to eat on site.

Cross country skiing

The Nordic Domaine Lioran-Haute Planèze
Whether you leave from the Col de Prat de Bouc, from Le Lioran or from one of the mountain villages, you will be able to ski and enjoy the wide open spaces at the same time.
There are nearly 200 km of safe and way marked ski runs. Tracks have already been traced in the snow for traditional cross country skiing, or for skating. You will be able to ski through pine forests, over basaltic uplands and through the glacial cirques, which are home to marmots and wild sheep. The effort is worthwhile when you see the magnificent, snow covered landscapes!

The Nordic Domaine Lioran –Haute Planèze is made up of five main sectors:
• Le Lioran: 1 green, 2 blue and 1 red ski runs
• Prat de Bouc: 2 green, 2 blue and 2 red ski runs
• Le Ché: 1 green, 1 blue and 2 red ski runs.
• Les Fraux: 1 blue ski run
• Paulhac: 1 green, 2 blue and 1 red ski runs

Evo-park
Set at the Col de Prat de Bouc this Park attracts young cross country skiers. It is equipped with a slalom, a jump, a beginners drag lift, and there are experienced instructors on hand for lessons and advice. Rates and further information: 04 71 73 32 13

The Nordic Domaine du Haut Cantal
This cross country skiing area has 78km of safe, way marked ski runs that have been traced for traditional cross country skiing and skating. It is spread over two main sectors:
• Col de Serre: 1 green, 1 blue and 1 red ski run
• Lascourt: 1 green, 1 blue, 1 red and 1 black ski run

Off piste activities

The unspoilt open spaces in the Monts du Cantal are suitable for lots of other off piste activities, such as ski mountaineering, climbing icefalls or just walking in the powdery snow.
