This village has 1030 inhabitants and it is the second biggest town in the Pays de Murat. The Allanche and the Alagnon rivers merge here .You will find all the main shops and amenities.
You will appreciate Moissac which has numerous heritage buildings: including a Roman church that dates back to the 12th century, a17th century castle, Merovingian stone tombs, and funeral mounds dating back to St Jacques de Compostelle.

  The river Alagnon is a paradise for anglers, there is feral trout, dower as well as a rarer species, but present nonetheless; the European Grayling.  





Water

Angling  
The Alagnon has a succession of calm stretches, waterfalls and rapids. This fly fishing river has extremely pure water which makes it one of the most pleasant courses in Europe. Anglers can use the No kill course (1500m) on the Alagnon, at a village called La Paschou, which is not far from Neussargues. They will be able to bait trout, European Grayling and Gudgeon, and maybe even salmon which has returned to this river since 2004.

Along Le Sentier des Vieilles pierres you will be able to admire numerous archaeological sites and other aspects of local heritage in the Pays de Murat.
Round circuit of 13km, 4hours 220m gradient

Mountain bike trails

Le bois du Cheylat, 2 and ½ hours, 15 km (orange route), 250 m gradient. Leave from the campsite. This is a very easy ride along the plateau
