This commune has 239 inhabitants, and it is made up of several hamlets built on the Planèze volcanic plateau. You will like the numerous farms and the rural atmosphere.

 
The old Templars' Commandery. Even though it is impossible to visit it, you can admire the exterior by climbing up on a small mound. This building dates back to the 11th and 15th century, and it is typically medieval. It is made up of four main buildings and three big square towers.
 





Water

Waterfall de Cheylat
On the RN 122, between Murat and Neussargues, turn and take the direction Chalinargues (D40).Park your car in the hairpin bend at La Torille. Follow the footpath; it will take you straight to the waterfall which is overlooked by a ruined castle dating back to the 11th century.
This is an easy walk to do with the children. Possible to cool down.

Hiking

A medieval path from Moissac to Celles links the Commandery at Moissac castle to the castle at Mardogne.
