This village has 94 inhabitants and is set in a lush valley, surrounded by footpaths that take you through beech and pine woodland. You will be able to appreciate the medieval castle that overlooks the village. Even if it is not possible to visit the castle, it is still well worth taking a look at the quality of the architecture.

  Le lac du Pêcher. This 20 hectare highland lake has, at anytime of the year, great views over Les Monts du Cantal. It is classed as a natural zone for its ecological interest and its wildlife and flora. The Lac du Pêcher has varied undergrowth, and shelters some protected plant species, as well as being home to more than 50 species of migrating and nesting birds.

Le bois de Chavagnac, 45 minutes, 60 m gradient
La Roche du Pic,is situated in the Boissonière forest. From the orientation table at the top of the Pic you will get a 360° panoramic view of the Monts du Cantal,le Cézallier and la Margeride. This is an easy walk to do with the children.
La tourbière de Brujaleine : Leaving from the village a way marked path takes you through the Bois de Chavagnac to the peat bog at Brujaleine .It takes 2 hours, 7 km there and back, 160 m gradient

La Pinatelle sud, 3 hours, 330 m gradient .It is a red run and very easy along the forest paths
Le lac du Pêcher, It takes 2 hours, 17 km (blue run) 280 m gradient. Leave from le lac du Pêcher . It is a very easy route along forest paths.
Les quatre fers de l’âne, 30 minutes, 4 km (green run) 40 m gradient
La Pinatèla, 1 and ¼ hours (green run) 100 m gradient it is an easy ride along forest paths.
La vallée de Cézerat, 2 hours16km (blue run) 220 m gradient. Leave from la lac du Pêcher.It is a very easy ride along forest paths
Alagnon - Pinatelle, 4 hours, 22km (orange run) 590 m gradient. This is quite a strenuous route with numerous hills
La vallée de la Santoire, 12 hours, 28 km, 760 m gradient, this is a route to be done in different stages over two days.
